Underclassmen & Academic Center Institute
The Underclassmen & Academic Center Institute is designed to support students with both their cognitive and non-cognitive development.  The participants meet four times a week and engage in a structured curriculum that targets the following non-cognitive components: personal organizational skills, time management, and study habits. Also, cognitive support is provided by tutors from the University of Chicago (U of C), Kenwood students, and staff.

The daily hour of operation is 7:30 am to 8:45 am, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. All participating students will meet in the Library - Media Center. In addition, students may utilize the library after-school. The hours are 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm. Lastly, from 7:30 am to 8:45 am, students may use the computer lab in Room 123.
